Obituary of John ‘Les’ Chormicle, Sr.

John Leslie Chormicle, Sr. passed away on July 16, 2014. He was 90.

He was born Aug. 15, 1923 in Chino, Calif., to William and Bertha Chormicle.

John married Mary Deardon on March 24, 1949 in Reno, Nev.

He worked for DeWitt State Hospital, Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital, Jenkins Roofing and C & S Roofing.

John is survived by his son, John (Deb) Chormicle of North San Juan; daughter, Laura (Richard) Sharsmitt of Sweet Home, Ore.; stepson, David Sells of North San Juan; stepdaughters, Lana Wilson of Kearney, Neb. and June Deardon of Auburn; 13 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Mary; stepsons, Richard Sells Sr. and Steve Sells; brothers, Edwin and Kenneth; sisters, Christine Jenkins and Della Cowan.

Arrangements are under the care of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary in Grass Valley.
