Obituary of Harry Alonzo “Lonnie” Van Sant

Lonnie passed away January 13, 2016. He was 98, one day short of his 99 birthday.

Lonnie lived in Maxwell 54 years, farming and ranching. He was active in youth groups and served on local and county school boards. A member of the Cattleman’s Association, Shorthorn Assoc, a delegate to three World Shorthorn Conferences, Lon built up a superior, well-known herd of registered Shorthorns. He was an active member of the Masonic Lodge. Enjoying fishing and traveling with his wife, they spent summers in Montana and winter by the Salton Sea.
