Obituary of Hank (Harold) Harr

Hank (Harold) Harr passed away Sunday, July 16, 2017 at home. He was 67.

A celebration of life will take place at 1 p.m., on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 1:00 at Nevada City Elks.

Hank was born March 21, 1950 in Nevada City to Harold and Lucille Hoar. He attended Nevada City Elementary, Seven Hills, and graduated from Nevada Union High School in 1968. Hank started his career in 1965 at SPD Market in Nevada City, where he retired from after 36 years.

Hank enjoyed fishing, softball, wood working and golf. He was a longstanding member of the Nevada County Country Club.

Hank was a Nevada City native and was a proud and well-loved member of his community. He was a friend to everyone he met. He had a contagious smile and a kind word or funny joke for everyone he encountered. Hank will be missed by so many.

He is survived by his wife Vickie Harr; step-sons Ernie Harries, Gavin Lewis and Travis Lewis; his sisters Shirley (George) Wallace and JoAnn (Al) Rossi; granddaughter Ila W. Harries; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Harold and Lucille Hoar.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
