Obituary of Gladys H. Hahn

Gladys Hahn

Gladys H. Hahn passed peacefully into Heaven on March 11, 2015 at Atria Senior Living. She was 107.

She was born Jan. 14, 1908 to Jose and Emma Candido in Santa Clara, California.

In 1911, they moved to San Francisco, where she attended high school and met and married her husband of over 50 years, Charles Hahn.

She was active with the Lutheran Braille Workers as a transcriber and teacher since it was formed in the 1950s. Gladys was also a volunteer at the El Camino Hospital in Mountain View for over 5,000 hours. She was always a giving and loving person.

Gladys and Charles moved to Cupertino after retiring from the grocery business in 1968. She moved to Morgan Ranch in Grass Valley and later to Atria where she was active in the library. She loved her friends and caregivers at Atria and Hospice of the Foothills.

She is survived by her son Rick (Valerie); grandchildren Kim, Debi, Dan, Robin, and their families.

Gladys was preceded in death by her husband Charles and son Bob (Pat).

Family services were held at Alta Mesa Memorial Park in Palo Alto.

Arrangements are under the care of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.
