Obituary of Elder Guerra

Elder Guerra passed away Aug. 8, 2015, and was born Sept. 28, 1964.

To measure Elder’s life was like examining the rings of a downed tree. There where thick areas that showed periods of steady growth and thinner rings showing times of stress like drought or wildfire, but always progress and the strength of a growing giant holding a strong place in the forest. Each year there were cones that dropped that sprung new growth. Elder is survived by Milda; Mariano; Elder Jr.; Lourdes; and 12 siblings — each with a broken heart at the loss of their beloved Elder.

The surrounding trees weep as well. Elder was a man who gave advice and wisdom in times of trouble. He could show the example of things good and not so good. He was a truth and a light. A smile that could light the darkest day. Oh how we could use that smile today! But we know that Elder was a man of faith and has gone on to a better place, on to do greater things, and lead others on to be stronger examples. Always a hard worker, a generous man, a happy soul, a kind example who loved his friends and was loved very much in return. Vamos a echar de menos a mi amigo.

The local service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14 at Sierra Foothills Funeral located at 271 Auburn Ravine, Auburn, California.
