Obituary of Edith Darlene Sise

Edith Darlene Sise passed away on Aug. 6, 2016, at Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital. She was 67.

Edith was born a twin on Sept. 21, 1948, in Palo Alto, California, to Leonard Lewis Sise and Marion Elizabeth Ike Sise.

Edith lived and worked as a dietitian, in Palo Alto until 1988. She retired and moved with her Mother and twin Sister (Barbara), to Grass Valley where they owned a ranch and business. She was a co-owner of Nevada City Ice Cream Parlor, the ranch also supported a business, Sportman’s Worm Farm in the early 1970s.

Edith enjoyed gardening, cooking, crafts, and had great love and affection for her dogs.

She is survived by siblings, Barbara Sise of Grass Valley, Dale Sise of Redwood City and Walter (Sidney) Sise of Texas; nieces and nephews, Linda Helm of Oregon, John DeWitt of Grass Valley, Jannette (Steve) Lantz of Grass Valley, Andrew Berryman of Grass Valley, Robin Detweiler of Grass Valley, Vicki Berryman of Oregon, Christina Francois of Oregon, Elaina (Jim) Swisher of Texas; as well as 24 great nieces and nephews; and 31 great-great nieces and nephews.

Edith is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Georgia Diane Berryman, Leonard Sise, Joan Sise, David Sise; and niece Pamela Perkins.

Edith was loved very much and will be missed dearly, especially by her twin Barbara. A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date.
