Obituary of Ed (William E.) Ditmars

On March 31, 2017, we lost our beloved Ed (William E.) Ditmars to aspiration pneumonia. He was 95.

Ed requested no service.

Ed was born in Arizona and his family moved to Santa Cruz, California when he was seven. He enlisted in the Army before Pearl Harbor and served five years. Ed worked 35 years for the telephone company in both Santa Cruz and Sacramento.

Ed is survived by his wife of 70 years, Peggy; sons Bill and Jack (Kerri) Ditmars; daughter Tina Collins; grandsons Jimmy and Ben Ditmars; granddaughters Heather and Lindsay Ditmars, Chessa (Brian) Maita; great-grandson Colton Maita as well as many nieces, nephews and many friends.

We had a family gathering the last weekend in May.

His favorite hobby was trail riding his horses with Bill, Jack or Tina. We miss him terribly but treasure our memories.
