Obituary of Colin Kowal

Colin Kowal

Colin Kowal, a father, friend, and pillar of the Ridge community, died on March 6, 2015 from ALS and lyme disease after two and a half years battle. He died peacefully in his home in Burton, B.C. Canada. He was surrounded by his friends and family including his love Mary Ellen Harris and his daughter Mandala Kowal Wondergem, and his loyal cat Morgan.

Colin was born Jan. 1, 1951.

He helped raise five children; Oceana, Jasmine, Mandala, Sara, and Fox, as well as a grandfather to six.

Colin was a prolific artist, cartoonist, activist, writer, and musician/song writer. He leaves a rich legacy of original folk music, expressing his love of nature, joy of freedom, and value of love and family. He was an avid builder who created homes and works of art for many. He loved swimming, snowboarding, riding his horses, caring for his animals, and playing music.

Go in peace and love! You will be with us in our hearts always!

A memorial is scheduled for 1 p.m. on March 28 at the old Murphy ranch, NSJ.
