Obituary of Charles Woodward

Charles Woodward died Oct. 9, 2015, at a nursing facility in Shoreline, WA, of complications from emergency surgery. He was 91.

Chuck was born in Seattle in 1924, grew up in Centralia WA, where he graduated from High School in 1942, but lived most of his adult life in California. He obtained his Master of City Planning from UC Berkeley (1952). He retired from the position of Planning Director for the City of Richmond in 1988, thereafter maintaining residences in both Berkeley and Grass Valley.

He married his late wife Barbara Skiles in 1953 and they enjoyed 62 years together.

Chuck loved travel, sailing, woodworking, blacksmithing and photography.

He is survived by his children, Mark and Anne Woodward; their spouses, Maria Woodward and Mark Rice; his grandchildren, Brian and Katie Delwiche and Tala and David Woodward; and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Liz Semion.
