Obituary of Allen Morton

Allen Wayne Morton died on Nov. 4, 2014, at home in Rancho Cordova He was 62.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 13, at Greenwood Memorial Gardens in Rough and Ready, Calif. A Reception at Christopher’s Old World Deli will follow.

He was born April 6, 1952, in Hayward, Calif., to Kenneth Morton and Retha Fisher. He graduated from Nevada Union High School in 1970.

He attended nursing School in Oklahoma in 1985, and was a LVN for 30 years. He lived many places around the U.S., but always called Grass Valley his home. He attended American River College in his retirement from nursing. Allen was also a drug and alcohol counselor and manager of a sober living house in Rancho Cordova.

He loved the weather, classic rock music, politics and the people in his social life.

He was a vibrant character that was hard to forget once you met him. He was a loving father, friend and will be missed by many people.

He is survived by son Lt. Col. Tyler Morton (USAF); daughters, Amber Morton and Retha Morton; grandchildren, Dylan, Hunter, Cody and Vincent; and stepfather Joe Fisher.

He is preceded in death by his father Kenneth Morton and mother Retha Fisher, brother Timothy Morton, wife Sharon Morton, and granddaughter Allie Jean Morton.
