Obituary: Gilbert A. Lee

Gilbert A. Lee of Penn Valley died Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016, in Grass Valley. He was 54.

A Celebration of Life will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at the reception hall of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary in Nevada City.

He was born on June 26, 1962, at Miners Hospital in Nevada City, CA, to Gilbert S. and Ruth (Barringer) Lee. He graduated from Nevada Union High School in 1981.

He was a carpenter and contractor, and was a member of Local Carpenters Union No. 1486.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and woodworking.

He is survived by his sons, Andrew Lee of San Jose, Jesse Lee of Citrus Heights, and Shawn Lee of Grass Valley; daughter Natasha Lee of Penn Valley; sisters, Dixie Lee of Rogers, Ark., and Sonia Lee of Penn Valley; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sheila and Bob Ramos of Oakdale, and Patsy and Allen Witzel of Redwood Valley; brothers and sisters-in-law Butch and Donna Lee of South Dakota; and Michael and Julie Lee of Grass Valley; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Gilbert S. Lee; mother Ruth M. Lee; sister Joan Selleck; and a son.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
