Lila Zelle

Lila Marie Zelle passed away peacefully on June 5, 2013, in Auburn, Calif.

At Lila’s request, no services will be held.

She was born in Rudyard, Mich., to William and Lydia Kivela on July 27, 1930. She moved to Sacramento, Calif., in 1949 and worked for several state agencies where she met and married Franklin Zelle.

Upon their retirement, they enjoyed travelling and golfing.

They ultimately settled in Grass Valley, Calif., where they volunteered at Empire Mine State Historic Park. Lila also volunteered with the Friends of the Library.

She is survived by her sisters Dorothy Graves (Larry), Mildred Gould; brother Raymond Kivela; and many nieces and nephews.

Lila’s husband preceded her in death on Feb. 5, 2006.
