Lee Arvidson

Lee Arvidson of Grass Valley died Sunday, July 14,2013, peacefully at home. He was 76.

Memorial services are pending.

Mr. Arvidson was born on Oct. 7, 1936, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Elsie Bauer Arvidson. He graduated from Greer School of Hope Farm and the University of Maryland. He married Maxine on Nov. 1, 1959, in Burlington, Vt. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a photographer, retiring as a master sergeant after 21 years of service. He was also a realtor for Rolling Hills Real Estate in Penn Valley for 30 years. He was a member of Twin Cities Church, Disabled Veterans, Rafiki Foundation, Orphan Mission from Twin Cities Church, American Heritage Foundation and Wycliff Bible Translators.

He enjoyed photography, skiing, ice skating, gardening and reading.

He is survived by his wife, Maxine Arvidson, of Grass Valley; daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Alan Hood of Houston, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Lori Arvidson of Penn Valley; granddaughters Kali and Kelsey Arvidson of Penn Valley; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Charlie and Sharon Haile of Huntington, Vt.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Elsie Bauer Arvidson, in 1978; and aunt, Eleanor Bauer, in 1994.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper & Weaver Mortuary.
