LaMarr Young

Lamarr Ray Young of Litchfield passed away at 9:45 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, at Heritage Health Therapy & Senior Care in Litchfield. He was 78.

A memorial service will be on Nov. 15, 2013, at the Litchfield Moose Lodge. A social gathering will be from 6 to 7 p.m. and Moose Rites will be at 7 p.m. The family suggests memorials to the Litchfield Moose Lodge.

LaMarr was born on Aug. 27, 1935 in Litchfield, Ill., a son of Ralph and Marie (Peger) Young.

LaMarr was a veteran, serving two years with the National Guard. Mr. Young was a roofer with Bay Circle Roofing for 20 years in California. After 20 years of employment, Mr. Young was self-employed as a roofer until his retirement. LaMarr was a lifetime member of The Litchfield Moose Lodge, VFW and Eagles, all in Litchfield.

LaMarr enjoyed reading, especially Westerns written by Louis L’Amour.

He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Young-Tennant (Mark) of Manteca, Calif.; granddaughters Krystel Hardin of San Andreas, Calif. and Katie Hardin of Salem, Ore.; brothers Ralph Young of Litchfield, Ill. and Jimmy Young (Florence) of Litchfield, Ill.; twin brother LaVerne Young of Litchfield, Ill.; sisters Mary Ann Bukowatz of Orville, Calif., 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Young was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Kaycee Henry; sisters Frieda Nail, Claire Urban and Eileen Eby; sister-in-law Juanita Young; and brothers Carl and Harold Young.

Litchfield Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
