Kathi Delponte-Lipscomb

Kathi Delponte-Lipscomb passed away at her home in Lake Wildwood on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, after a brief illness. She was 64.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Grass Valley. A reception will follow.

Kathi was born April 27, 1949, in Pottstown, Pa., to Julie Bower and the late William Bower.

Kathi attended Hartnell College and worked in sales for MACtac for 18 years before retiring in 2005. At the time of her passing, Kathi was president of the board of AnimalSave, a Grass Valley-based nonprofit dedicated to the welfare of cats and dogs. She was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Grass Valley.

In addition to caring deeply for animals, Kathi was a passionate cook and food critic. She also enjoyed travel, art and music.

She is survived by Joe Lipscomb, loving husband of 21 years; mother, Julie Bower of Schwenksville, Pa.; cousins George Detore and Sue Condon; stepchildren Slaton Lipscomb and Evelyn Berkley; and her dog, Dandi.
