John Zotalis

John Zotalis passed away June 3, 2013, in Grass Valley, Calif. He was 90.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. June 30 at the Grass Valley Elks Lodge. A reception will follow.

John was born Feb. 8, 1923. in Duluth, Minn. John was a decorated veteran of WWII. He entered active service in September 1942. He served as chief pharmacist mate on Air Craft Carrier USS Marcus Island. He attended L.A. State College and received a bachelor of science degree. John was employed by AT&T. He retired in 1983.

John was an active life member of the Masonic Lodge and a member of the Elks and The Grass Valley Moose. John enjoyed gardening, birding and playing pool at the Elks Lodge.

John is survived by his wife, Mary; sons David, Thomas and Kenneth; and Donna Leek.

John was a kind and honorable man who will be missed by family and friends.
