Janis Bader

Janis Louise Bader returned to spirit from the comfort of her own bed at home in Nevada City Nov. 26, 2012, surrounded by her immediate loved ones. She was 56.

A family gathering will take place on the winter solstice Dec. 21, 2012. A celebration of her life is planned for early 2013.

Janis was born in Pottsville, Pa., in 1956. After high school, she attended York Academy of Art in York, Pa. Her free and indomitable spirit then set out for the Sonoran Desert, Mojave Desert, San Francisco and Lake Tahoe. She lived and worked in all of these places. Sedona, Ariz., was home until moving to Nevada City a decade ago.

She is survived by her mother, Jan Bader of Grass Valley; brother Earl Bader of Flagstaff, Ariz.; son Donald Perry of Mt. Shasta; twins Emily and James Bader of Nevada City.

The family would like to express gratitude to all the exceptional individuals of Hospice of the Foothills for making her final wish possible. Please support Hospice of the Foothills.

The family would gratefully accept donations for final expenses. An account in the name of James Bader is open at Tri-Counties Bank.
