Gertrude Wright

Gertrude (Trudy) Wright passed away Jan. 25, 2013, at Wolf Creek Nursing Home. She was 96.

There will be a celebration of life at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at Word-A-Live! Church, 10528 Spenceville Road, Penn Valley, Calif. (across from the Penn Valley Fire Dept.).

Gertrude was born Jan. 14, 1917, in Mankato, Minn. She and her husband, Kenneth C. Wright, moved to California in 1942. Trudy and her husband moved to Lake Wildwood, Penn Valley, in 1975. Trudy retired from Brookside Hospital in San Pablo, Calif., in 1974. She was a volunteer for hospice in Penn Valley. She loved gardening and flowers. She was a loving and loyal wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her little dog, Spunky, who preceded her in death.

Gertrude is survived by her son, Gary M. Wright of Santa Rosa, Calif., and daughter Pastor Sandra Chipchase of Word-A-Live! Church, Penn Valley; grandsons Troy Wright, Todd Wright and Kenneth Chipchase and granddaughter Suzanne Balke Lee; great-grandsons Skylar Wright, Jack Wright, Connor Wright, Cameron Chipchase and Michael Bondello; great-granddaughters Rachel Wright, Amanda Wright, Brittney Balke, Meghan Balke and Natasha Lee; and great-great-granddaughter Mia Chipchase.

Kenneth C. Wright (husband) preceded her in death in 1993, and Tyler Balke (great-grandson) preceded her in death in 2012.
