Daniel John Koontz

Daniel (Dan) John Koontz was born on November 14, 1962 in San Jose, Calif. to his mother Noelle and his step-father, Mike Philibosian passed away on January 24, 2013. He was 50.

A memorial service will take place at Twin Cities Church on Friday, February 8, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. with a reception to follow at the same location.

Many will miss him, including his wife, Nancy Koontz and his two daughters, Nicolle and Kayla. His family and friends knew him as a loving, compassionate man who was always looking to take care of those he knew. After 23 years of working as a produce manager at Lucky and later Ralphs, Dan put to use his talent of building and fixing things by starting his own business as a handyman. For years he had worked to turn his house into a home for his family and he put the same effort into working for others. He was a skilled hard worker who was constantly learning and expanding what he could do. Dan loved spending time outdoors in all the beauty California had to offer. In his free time he went mountain biking, cross-country and downhill skiing, backpacking, fishing and camping with his family.
