Clifford Cromer

Clifford Cromer passed away peacefully Oct. 3, 2012, at his daughter’s home surrounded by family. He was 92.

A service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at Abundant Life Community Church, 10795 Alta St., Grass Valley, Calif. A luncheon will follow immediately after at the church.

He was born Sept. 7, 1920, in Doe Run, Mo., to John and Bessie Lee Carver Cromer. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps along with his two brothers in WWII. He spent most of his working career at Safeco Insurance. Cliff liked building things and loved working on mechanical things. He loved taking things apart to see what made them tick. He was known for his quick wit and his infectious sense of humor. He had an unbelievable love of life. He had an inquisitive mind and persisted until he found the solution. The two most important things in his life were his church and his family. We will miss him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Honore` Stellhorn Cromer; his two daughters, Linda (Ern) Chiappari and Gloria (Alan) Hooker and families. The families of Michelle Schiffel and Randy Stellhorn, Lisa Parman, Honore` Stellhorn and Gary Stellhorn. He also left behind his friends and wonderful neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Ella Valance Cromer.
