Christopher Garvey

Christopher Earl Garvey passed away surrounded by his family on Nov. 9, 2013. He was 24.

Celebration of Life services will be at noon on Mon., Nov. 18, 2013, at Greenwood Cemetery in Grass Valley. A continuation of the celebration will be held immediately afterwards at the home of Mike Garvey, located at 12999 Frosty Lane in Grass Valley.

Chris was born to Michael Joseph Garvey and Laura Ann Markey on May 25, 1989, both of Grass Valley.

Chris graduated from Nevada Union High School in 2006 and continued his education at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo. He spent several years living in San Diego before moving back to Grass Valley where many of his family and friends lived.

An avid sports fan, Chris grew up playing football and baseball in local leagues. He was a loyal supporter of Cal athletics and a handful of other professional teams.

Chris will be remembered as a loving son, brother and loyal friend who touched many lives. His smile and laugh were among his best qualities, as well as his kind and sensitive demeanor. He will be deeply missed.

Chris is survived by his loving parents; his stepfather; three older brothers; five nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Arrangements are under the care of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary in Grass Valley.
