Artie Scott

Artie passed away on Oct. 20, 2013. She was 93.

She was born on May 28, 1920, in Hope, Ark., to Charles and Josie Vantrees.

Artie lived life to the fullest. She was a very vivacious lady who enjoyed travel and writing her memoirs in a book about her life. Artie enjoyed the title of Rosie the Riveter. Her husband was C.C. Scott. Her brothers were John Vantrees, Chester Vantrees and Lester Vantrees, and her sister was Velma Stephens.

In 1950 she moved to Los Angeles and joined Union Oil. Then she retired and moved to Nevada City with her husband. After her husband passed, she carried on with her interest in writing & genealogy. Artie was loved and will be greatly missed by family and friends.

She left behind a multitude of nieces, nephews; great- great- great- and great- great- great-nieces and great-nephews and some dearly loved friends
