Oakland Outlaw (aka Rick Birchmore) headlines Saturday’s Comedy Night at the Holbrooke Hotel.

His adult humor is about drugs, sometimes sex – depending on the crowd – and life in general.

Birchmore’s career in comedy began when he entered a talent search about 10 years ago at a television station in his hometown of Oakland. He then won the Northern California Comedy Competition at Tommy T’s Comedy Club in San Leandro.

He now tours full time across North America with his little mutt, “Shorty,” who sometimes jumps on stage.

Bob Fernandez opens the show.

Admission is $8 in advance and $10 at the door.

Doors open at 8:30 p.m.; the show starts at 9 p.m. in the Iron Door room. The Holbrooke is at 212 W. Main St., Grass Valley.

Call 263-4544 for reservations or information.
