NUHS dancers unveiling new show this weekend

Eight advanced dancers from the Nevada Union High School Theatrical Dance Department will be in the spotlight Friday and Saturday at Don Baggett Theatre.

Brianna Anthony, Risa Larsen, Angela Meilandt, Aeron Miller, Lindsey Ransom, Courtney Wadman, Miriam Drace and Jesse Beck choreographed, staged, costumed, and produced the inaugural “A Student Choreography Showcase.”

Besides the eight students who will introduce their works, the hourlong-plus show will feature 70 advanced and intermediate dance students.

“These young people are amazingly dedicated and talented, and we think the community is going to be pleased with the fruits of their labor,” said NU dance program director and teacher Yelena Holt.

The showcase is at 7:30 p.m., and the box office opens at 6:30 p.m. both nights.

Admission is $5.

Tickets are at Odyssey Books, the NUHS student store weekdays from 10:40 to 11:15 a.m. and at the door.

Don Baggett Theatre is at 11761 Ridge Road in Grass Valley.
