NU music groups set 4 concerts

Four Nevada Union High School concerts in about a two-week period indicate that the school year is quickly drawing to a close.

— The NU Instrumental Music Department kicks off the performances Friday with numerous bands in a free “thank-you” concert for the community.

The Marching Band, Pep Band, Color Guard, Drum Line, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, instrumental ensemble groups, vocal jazz ensemble and two jazz bands will perform between 5 and 8 p.m. at the school’s outdoor amphitheater in front of the library. Refreshments will be sold. Call 273-4431, ext. 308, for more information.

— About 300 NU choir members will perform sacred and secular music during the annual spring concerts Tuesday and May 23 in the Don Baggett Theatre.

Doors open at 6 p.m. both nights. Admission is $3.

— The Nevada Union Chamber Choir will perform songs rehearsed since August at the Dessert Concert on May 31 at Sierra Presbyterian Church.

Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. performance are $7, which includes dessert.

Anyone with NU choir memberships can exchange their membership coupon for a free ticket. The church is at 175 Ridge Road. Call 273-4431, ext. 305, for info.
