NU basketball scuffle turns into Brunswick Basin brawl

A scuffle between opposing players and fans at a Nevada Union versus Yuba City high school basketball game Tuesday night later turned into a full-fledged fight between students who’d left the school.

About 30 minutes after the game, police got a call about a brawl taking place between the Burger King and Jack in the Box restaurants in the Brunswick Basin.

One 17-year-old Yuba City student, possibly a basketball player, had to be hospitalized for injuries to his face, Grass Valley police officials said.

“There were brass knuckles used at some point during the fight,” Police Capt. Greg Hart said.

No one has been arrested for the alleged assault, he said.
