Not voting for W

(Re “Reasons for Bush vote,” the letter-writer) explained his reasoning to vote for W, but what he is really saying is that he believes:

1. The government is more able to make decisions for women’s bodies than they are for themselves.

2. National defense means supporting defense contractors not supporting the empowerment of the people and their right to education, free speech and pollution-free environments.

3. That W is accountable for the billions of dollars he’s squandered from the surplus and spent to create the nation’s record deficit when he’s not held accountable whatsoever.

4. That marriage cannot and should not exist between two people who truly love and dedicate themselves to each other, unless they’re heterosexual because gay marriage is making a mockery of Elizabeth Taylor’s eight marriages and the 50 percent societal divorce rate.

5. That right and wrong is based in laws, not in the eye of the beholder, but that John Ashcroft’s Patriot Act laws are beholden to no one.

6. The ACLU is trying to legally maneuver God out existence, when really they are preserving and protecting our rights guaranteed under the Constitution and Bill of Rights, when the government feels inclined to not uphold those rights.

This is why I am not voting for W!
