Not quite a white Christmas

Though western Nevada County didn't experience a widespread white Christmas, as many had hoped, there were a few dustings of low snow to be had including along Banner Quaker Hill Road outside of Nevada City where these madrone berries made for a natural Christmas tree ornament Wednesday morning. Sunny and partly cloudy skies are on the horizon for the rest of the year aside from Sunday when a 50 percent chance of rain showers returns.
