Norman Rhoades obituary

Private family services for Norman Dean Rhoades of North San Juan will be conducted.

Mr. Rhoades died Tuesday, May 9, at home. He was 75.

He was born Oct. 17, 1930, in Nebraska to George and Lorraine A. (Hendrickson) Rhoades. He owned Norm’s Cafe in Nevada City for 10 years. He enjoyed herb gardening, making pies for family and friends, and gold mining.

He is survived by his daughter, Donna I. Rhoades of Nevada City; son, Robert N. Rhoades of Marysville; son and daughter-in-law, Craig D. and Donnae Rhoades of Sparks, Nev.; granddaughters Jaime Daniels of Reno, Nev., and Sharee Rhoades of Sparks, Nev.; grandson, Justin Daniels of Fallon, Nev.; and great-granddaughter, Riley Daniels of Fallon, Nev.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills, 12399 Nevada City Highway, Grass Valley 95945, or the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, Okla. 73123-1718.

Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.
