Nora Hewston

Nora Lee Hewston, 79, of Grass Valley died Monday, April 29, in Grass Valley. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no services.

Mrs. Hewston was born Nov. 4, 1912, in Port Orchard, Wash., to Bertha E. Ricketts and Charles F. Knox.

She worked as a secretary for the U.S. government in various locations overseas. She was a member of Friends of the Library and the Women’s Democratic Club. She also volunteered for various organizations after her retirement. She enjoyed needlework, crafts and reading.



She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Les and Enid Hewston; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Marv Halvorson; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
