No to Yuba Highlands

Soon the Yuba County Supervisors will be voting on whether or not to approve the Yuba Highlands Development in the Smartville area. This new “city” with 5,082 homes will have a very negative impact, not only in Yuba County, but the surrounding counties as well. In 10-15 years, Beale AFB could be closed and thousands of well-paying jobs would be lost, as well as millions in revenue to the surrounding counties.

The development would contribute more than 15,000 additional cars on our already inadequate roads, with people having to commute long distances in gridlocked traffic to find quality jobs. Accordingly, the development will bring an abundance of air pollution, light pollution, and noise pollution.

The possibility that the Spenceville Wildlife Area will disappear is real as well because of a proposed highway connector, which would cut through it and ruin the serene, beautiful recreational area we currently enjoy.

Please contact the supervisors immediately and request that they vote against this development. Visit to e-mail them directly, contact them via phone at 749-7510 or mail to 915 8th St., Marysville, CA 95901.

Urge your friends and neighbors to do the same now! The quality of your life depends on it!
