No thanks for shopping local

I support shopping locally.

Last week, on a beautiful autumn day, I attended a business luncheon at the Holbrooke Hotel, then shopped at several Grass Valley retailers, adding a few hundred dollars to their coffers. Returning to my car parked in the Church Street public lot, I found my thanks for shopping locally – an $18 ticket for staying 3 1/2 hours. Eighteen dollars would have more than paid for my gas to The Galleria in Roseville.
