No successes

I would like to urge every person of voting age to watch the debates, so that they may see and hear the candidates and their positions, before the spin starts.

It was patently obvious in the first presidential debate that Mr. Bush must attack Mr. Kerry in any way possibly left open to him because he has no record to brag about. As incumbent, he should be able to point to his successes; however, he has none. His administration, which is the most secretive in many years, still cannot hide his glaring failures on almost every issue, from the Iraq war to our budget, and his frightening lack of defense for or our environment. Thus he tries to attack a man who has served the public well for decades, both in public service and in military service.

I must digress here to point out that the swift boat campaign, which Mr. Bush endorses by his silence, must resort to lies and attempting to rewrite history in order to denegrate Mr. Kerry’s service to his country, while the “soft ad” campaigns against Mr. Bush simply put forward observations about the actual policies of this administration, which anyone can substantiate if they look into the congressional and/or other public records.
