No one to blame but ourselves

Have you noticed that all of the editorials and/or letters to the editor concerning budget cuts are generally written by people who have a single agenda – i.e., the highway people, the environmentalists, the educators, the parks people, the welfare people, the public service people, etc. And the theme is always the same: “Don’t cut me, don’t cut thee, cut that fellow behind the tree.”

We have serious fiscal problems in this state, and we have no one to blame but ourselves. The enemy is right there in the mirror.

We vote for people who pander to our wants, complain when they do exactly that and then we re-elect them. My own pet peeve is education. It is always more money with them, and all our problems will be solved. When it comes to cutting education, the last people to be cut should be teachers. Oh well, enough said. I have vented my spleen. Will it do any good? Of course not.
