NID approves monthly billing

Nevada Irrigation District treated water users will soon be billed monthly instead of every other month.

Board members this morning approved the new billing method. Finance Manager Tess Andrews said the district will notify customers in February and March with hopes of starting the monthly bills in April.

Andrews said an estimated $21,000 in additional yearly postal fees for the bills could be made up with better cash flow for the district. The district is also hoping there will be fewer shutoff notices with the new system as bills will be halved and easier to afford for customers.
