Nick Burgeles

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 12, at Hooper and Weaver, 459 Hollow Way, Nevada City, for Nick D. Burgeles. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Mr. Burgeles passed away April 3 in Grass Valley. He was 74.

Mr. Burgeles was born Oct. 28, 1932, to Nicholas John Burgeles in Oakland.

He attended Castlemont High School in Oakland and served in the U.S. Navy between December 1950 and October 1954.



Mr. Burgeles married Bebe Ann Burgeles in Reno, Nev., in 1962. Between Jan. 1, 1959, and Dec. 31, 1987, he was a firefighter in Berkeley.

Mr. Burgeles was a member of the Moose and Elk lodges of Grass Valley. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and woodworking.




Mr. Burgeles is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Forsyth of Singapore; sons, Michael Burgeles of Billings, Mont., and Larry Burgeles of Stockton; granddaughters, Karla Burgeles of Billings, Mont., and Lesley Burgeles of Reno, Nev.; and grandson, Nick Burgeles of Reno, Nev. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bebe Ann Burgeles, in 1996.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
