Nice weather around for at least a week

We can’t call it fall yet, but the cooler weather that blew into Nevada County over the weekend is expected to last into the next.

“We have a delightful week ahead,” said Harry Stockman of the weather service.

An upper level trough of low pressure pushed the hot weather out of the area and another will follow later in the week, Stockman said.

That will mean high temperatures in the 80s this week that will drop into the 70s on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Lows will be in the 50s during the work week, dipping into the 40s for the weekend.

“We could still get some hot weather before the month is out, so I don’t want to call it the start of fall yet,” Stockman said. In some years, heat waves have even come in October.

Winds should be light and breezy, Stockman said, and there is no great chance for precipitation during the pleasant spell.
