Who are you — really?

How to solve genealogy puzzles related to your ancestors’ first and last names will be explored at the Aug. 13 meeting of the Nevada County Genealogical Society. Tammy Noe, an instructor, staff trainer and supervisor at the Sacramento FamilySearch Library, will discuss spelling variations, handwriting interpretations, Americanization of foreign surnames, outsmarting indexes, origins, abbreviations and nicknames.

The society meets the second Tuesday of every month. For information, call Helen Martini at 530-273-0855 or visit http://rootsweb.ancestry.com/~cancgs.
