United Way of Nevada County recruiting board members

United Way of Nevada County’s mission is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of the community. After identifying gaps in the community, United Way of Nevada County has a service priority to assure individuals and families in Nevada County are able to meet their basic need for food, emergency shelter and access to health care. Over the past two years United Way of Nevada County has helped to deliver 9,200 lunches to children during the summer, give 4,400 emergency shelter nights to those in crisis, deliver meals to 360 seniors during the summer, provide medical services to 40 people living with AIDS and more.

United Way of Nevada County is currently accepting applications from community members who are interested in being on its board of directors. Board members participate in special committees, fundraising events, and bi-monthly board meetings. They provide expertise, ideas, insight and leadership. Board members will become knowledgeable of United Way’s mission, vision, and strategic directions so as to make informed decisions and contribute their leadership to United Way of Nevada County.

Ideal candidates have local business, county or state government, sales, marketing or accounting experience. United Way of Nevada County envisions a community where all individuals and families achieve their desired potential through healthy lives, education and income stability.
