Toys for Tots registration announced

For families in Nevada County and Auburn needing help with toys, clothes and food this holiday season, coordinators of Toys for Tots are requesting they register in early November. Run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve since its inception 65 years ago, Toys for Tots works directly with The Salvation Army in Auburn and Grass Valley and the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office to help parents who cannot afford to buy gifts for Christmas.

How to register to receive toys for your child:

— Bring identification for yourself

— Identification for all of your children

— Information about your income

Registration to receive toys and/or food and clothing from The Salvation Army will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 5 and 6 at the Grass Valley Veteran’s Memorial Hall, located at 255 S. Auburn St. in Grass Valley.

For questions, call the Grass Valley Salvation Army at (530) 274-3500.

Auburn registration will be from 5-7 p.m. on Nov. 5 at The Salvation Army’s Auburn office in Auburn, located at 286 Sutter St.

For questions, call the Auburn Salvation Army at (530) 889-3990.
