Nevada County’s barbershop harmony chorus, The Sierranaders, recently competed at a contest held by the Far Western District Association of Chapters in the Barbershop Harmony Society.

At a convention in Sacramento, the group was awarded “Most Improved” of the 15 competing choruses. They sang two songs, “You’re the Flower of My Heart, Sweet Adeline” and “Old Cape Cod” in the society’s unique four-part a cappella style.

Men who love to sing are invited to come and learn more about the group, which sings in four-part harmony. There is a part for any man’s vocal range. The group sings in a nurturing environment and members are provided with sheet music, training CDs, and a sense of camaraderie. The ability to read music is not mandatory.

The group meets at 7 p.m. on Tuesday nights in Auburn at 11577 E Ave. For further information call Ron at 530-210-4640, e-mail Cliff at cliff@cliffsings.com or visit http://www.sierranaders.org.
