Tahoe National Forest announces summer photo contest

The Tahoe National Forest is hosting a photo contest during the summer months, beginning May 28 and ending Sept. 30.

In an effort to teach people about their public lands, visitors are encouraged to document the scenery, plants, animals and recreational opportunities available on the Tahoe National Forest.

Photos must be taken within the Tahoe National Forest. Photo examples may include wilderness, wildlife, plants, recreation, rivers, lakes, lookouts, landscapes and more. Anyone can enter the contest with the exception of Tahoe National Forest employees. First, second and third place winners will be announced by the Forest in October. Winners will be recognized on the Forest website, social media pages and other publications.

See the Tahoe National Forest home page at http://www.fs.usda.gov/tahoe for contest rules and information on how to submit a photo. Join the conversation by following the TNF on Twitter at twitter.com/Tahoe_NF and Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/TahoeNF.
