Sponsor coordinator needed for PV Rodeo

For nearly 60 years, the nonprofit Penn Valley Rodeo has served the community and supported education. The annual rodeo depends on support of the business community to provide funding for the event. For several years, Bob Winters has been the contact for approximately 20 established sponsors whose yearly support makes the rodeo a reality. This year, as he prepares to retire as rodeo board president, Winters is looking for the right person to take over his sponsor duties.

Penn Valley Rodeo is in need of a retired sales rep to call on sponsors February through March 2016. The sponsor accounts have all sponsored in 2015, and are enthusiastic in their support of the Penn Valley Rodeo. There is no hard selling involved. It is mostly coordination of sponsors’ “wishes.” Rodeo positions are all volunteer, and most volunteer activities occur in spring and summer. The rodeo supports local service organizations and provides fundraising opportunities for schools and youth groups. The rodeo also awards two annual $1,000 scholarships to students preparing for careers in agriculture. Those interested in the position of sponsor coordinator can email Bob Winters at bwinters@succeed.net.
