South Yuba Club seeks women for September triathlon fundraiser

The South Yuba Club is assembling a team of women to train for the Barbara Schmidt Millar Celebration of Life Women’s Triathlon on Sept. 15. The first meeting for the training will take place at the Nevada City club, 555 Searls Avenue, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on June 11.

The program is designed for women who are brand new to triathlons or even to exercising regularly but is open to all fitness and experience levels. All who are interested are encouraged to attend the first meeting to find out more.

The race will include a .5-mile swim, 11-mile bike ride and a three-mile run. All proceeds from the race go to support the Barbara Schmidt Millar Memorial fund at the Breast Imaging Center of Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital. This triathlon is designed for women and is structured for both first time and experienced triathletes.
