Sierra Harvest potluck at Tumbling Creek Ranch

Sierra Harvest is inviting the community for their final farm potluck of the season at Tumbling Creek Ranch. The potluck will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 6 on the 38-acre homestead known for its sustainability practices. Tumbling Creek farmers Marlene and Cliff Bottenfield and their daughter and son-in-law, Maria and Chris Galvez, grow organic and biodynamic oyster, shiitake and lion’s mane mushrooms, as well as eggs, produce, and pasture raised livestock. Guests are encouraged to arrive at 5:30 for a tour of the farm with dinner scheduled for 6 p.m.

During the summer season, Tumbling Creek Farm maintains a booth at the Nevada City Farmers Market, and year-round their oyster mushrooms can be found at the SPD in Nevada City, Mother Truckers, Natural Selection and the BriarPatch. In addition, Three Forks Bakery and Brewery also uses their mushrooms in their pizzas and sandwiches. Guests should bring utensils, a plate and cup for yourself/selves, a dish to share and a blanket to sit on.
