Scooter’s Pals matching funds campaign: 48 hours to go

Submitted to The Union

With slightly more than 48 hours to go, Scooter’s Pals “Help Save a Dog” matching gift is still seeking donations. Susan Wallace, founder of the all-volunteer nonprofit animal rescue group, said donations have amounted to $8,400 since launching their campaign August 3. A long-time San Francisco benefactor has pledged to match donations the group receives by midnight, September 30, up to a total of $10,000. Earlier this year, a high number of dogs arrived from various “high-kill” shelters with unexpected medical needs, depleting the organization’s emergency fund in May. This forced Scooter’s Pals to temporarily stop taking in new rescue dogs.

Thanks to the matching gift campaign, they are “back in business,” but hoping to raise the remaining $1,600 to go to meet their $10,000 goal. Donations can be sent to Scooter’s Pals, P.O. Box 1687, Cedar Ridge, CA 95924 or paid via PayPal on the organization’s website,
