Scheduled public outreach events for update of the Nevada County Regional Transportation Plan

The Nevada County Transportation Commission (NCTC) invites members of the public to provide input on the update of the Nevada County Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) during three public outreach events being held in August. The purpose of the RTP is to document the short-term (10-year) and long-term (20-year) regional transportation needs, and sets forth an effective, cost-feasible action plan to meet these needs. The RTP documents the policy direction, actions, and funding strategies designed to maintain and improve the regional transportation system in Nevada County.

The outreach events will be held in conjunction with the Thursday Night Market in downtown Grass Valley, Truckee Thursdays, and the Nevada City Farmers Market on the dates listed below. All three outreach events will feature an open-house format for residents to discuss regional transportation needs, issues, and concerns with NCTC staff and Fehr & Peers, its consultant hired to update the plan.

The website for the plan will go live today at http://www.nctcrtp.fehrandpeers.net. Those who are unable to attend the outreach events or would like to learn more, are encouraged to visit the plan’s website that will feature a short survey and the latest information on the project.

Dates, locations, and times of the outreach events include:

— Today from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at Thursday Night Market, downtown Grass Valley.

— Saturday, Aug. 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Nevada City Farmers Market, downtown Nevada City.
