Retirement Planning 101: adult education course open to the community

The community is invited to attend Retirement Planning 101, an adult-education course presented by the California Institute for Financial Literacy,, starting February 19 at Yuba College, 2088 N. Beale Road in Marysville.

The two-week course is taught by professionals from the legal, financial and insurance industries. The course will address the most common financial planning concerns and pitfalls, while also providing valuable industry insights and tools that will allow students the ability to successfully create and maintain their own personalized retirement plan.

Attendees will learn how to get the most from Social Security, understand Medi-Cal and Medicare choices, choose the right financial advisor, how to best utilize CalPERS and CalSTRS, evaluate and choose the right investments and maximize returns and minimize risk.



Retirement Planning 101 will consist of 4 instructional days, February 19, 21, 26 and 28.  Enrollment is open to the public. Individuals can register (or learn more) by calling 800-749-0619 or by visiting http://caifl.org/reg/.

The California Institute for Financial Literacy is a regional not-for-profit organization that sponsors adult education courses throughout California. Institute instructors have over 15 years of experience as professional financial advisors.
