Nevada City United Methodist Church
The Gospel this week is from Mark 13:1-8. Please join us for Sunday service at either the 9 a.m. traditional or 10:30 a.m. contemporary worship.
Pastor Charles Smith will be delivering the message. Sunday School will take place during the 10:30 a.m. service with loving childcare all morning. Jr. and Sr. Youth will meet at 10 a.m. for a light cereal breakfast followed by a short bible study followed by them joining the 10:30 a.m. service. We enjoy fellowship following both services in our fellowship hall. Brother, can you spare an … hour?
A group of local men meets from 6 to 7 a.m. Thursdays at Penny’s Diner for breakfast. Under the banner of “Christian Business Men’s Committee,” we have breakfast, read a portion of scripture, share what God has done in our life and pray. As a welcome break between weekends, these men encourage each other as they wish to encourage you in these trying times.

Thanksgiving is a time we remember all the ways that we have been blessed. This Sunday, Pastor Mark will be sharing a message from Psalm 100 titled “True Thankfulness.” The church will also be celebrating communion as we express our thankfulness for Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross for us. Traditional service at 9 a.m. features a mix of praise songs and hymns in a traditional setting. Sunday School for adults, youth, and children and preschoolers is provided. Pray Nevada County
We are seeking God on behalf of our communities. Open to all for Christian prayer, Pray Nevada County meets each Tuesday from noon to 1 p.m. to pray for our county governments and services, schools and families, businesses and media, and churches and parachurch ministries. Since August 1997, 15 to 25 people from eight to 12 congregations have met each week to pray for our communities. We are a local chapter of Aglow International, meets the second Tuesday of every month from 9:45 a.m. to noon at 336 Crown Point Circle, Grass Valley. The Healing Rooms of Nevada County
We pray for healing of body and spirit. Everyone is welcome whether they attend church or not. The Palestine-Israel Working Group of Nevada County (PIWG)
We advocate for human rights, equality and justice for all in Palestine and Israel. We meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Peace Center of Nevada County, 216 B Main Street, Nevada City. PIWG sponsors the Women and Men in Black vigil Thursdays, 5:15 to 6 p.m. on the Broad Street bridge in Nevada City. We vigil to in support of the Women in Black in Israel, who founded the movement in 1988. All who support human rights and justice for all in Palestine and Israel are welcome to join the vigil.
