Quilt Guild to examine appliqué

The next meeting of Pine Tree Quilt Guild will be at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, at Grass Valley Charter School, 225 S. Auburn St. in Grass Valley. Featured speaker Kevin Kosbab will share his expertise and wry sense of humor in a lecture titled “Applique Isn’t a Four Letter Word.” His goal is to take the fear factor out of appliquéing. Kosbab is a professional quilter and sewing pattern designer as well as a craft and design writer and editor. His patterns have appeared in many quilting magazines and he authored a book called “The Quilter’s Applique Workshop.” Guild members are busy with final preparations for the 31st Annual “Springtime in the Pines” Quilt Show scheduled for Saturday, May 2, and Sunday, May 3, at the Nevada County Fairgrounds. Be sure to mark your calendar and plan to attend Nevada County’s largest quilt show! For more information, see the website at http://www.pinetreequiltguild.com.
